ORIGINAL BLOG POST FROM THE HIGH VIBE OIL LIFE:

How Travel Can Change You

As I sit here in Allen, Texas, I am already daydreaming about vacation, and spreading my wings in the summer sun.

The essential oils I never travel without are OnGuard (for immunity), DigestZen (for all things related to the tummy), Peppermint (head tension and heat diffusion), Past Tense (helps with my ears closing on an airplane), Breathe (to clear the lungs), Vetiver (to help fall asleep in a new hotel room), and Balance (to stay calm and grounded amidst travel changes and exposure to new things, people and places).

In fact, wellness is a big part of travel. The two go hand in hand. But travel isn't just a matter of visiting another place; I believe it actually has the power to change you.

It changes you because it changes your perspective. Visiting another part of the country, or another part of the world, isn't just about a physical change of location, or even a change of pace. While yes, your body changes as you may be forced to adapt to climatic changes or drops in temperature or altitude. The air you are used to breathing changes (anyone who has gone to Niagara Falls knows this), the water you drink and bathe in has different properties (think New York), as is the food you eat. Perhaps you're visiting the pristine hills of southern France where everything just tastes good, or the mountains of Lebanon where minerals in the soil grow rich. This may affect your skin, your hair, the amount you bloat (or not), your digestive system, and even your blood pressure.

But I say it does something deeper. Traveling and exploring a new place is an opportunity to change our perspective, to understand the same things, in a different way. Regular opportunities to change our perspective should be something that is welcomed! As our cells regenerate in our bodies, our thoughts can too. Our essential oils also help to change our body chemistry and thus our "thought chemistry". When we travel with an open mind and an open heart, we allow ourselves to transform ourselves. The choice is always ours.

So as you go about creating your summer plans, think of a place you'd like to visit which could offer a fresh perspective. It doesn't have to be exotic or far away. It could be a new locale in your community, one that you never even considered could provide an opportunity to learn. Or simply, choose a spot to go to, randomly, and see what the universe opens up! And don't forget to take your essential oils with you :)
